#019 (Slow Cook Beef or Turkey Chili) - Need (2) lbs. ground Beef or Turkey (can use less), (2) 15 oz. cans drained Kidney beans (discarding juices), (1) 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, (1) 14 oz. can Tomato soup, (3) tbsp. Vegetable Oil, (1) chopped red bell pepper (1) medium diced yellow onion, (6) small chopped Garlic cloves, Crock pot/Slow cooker and (1) Chili recipe kit. Optional: (1/4) cup chopped Jalapeno or green chilies, drained.
1st) Heat Oil in skillet over medium heat, add chopped onion and chopped bell pepper, cooking until softened about 8 minutes.
2nd) Then add chopped Garlic and ground beef or turkey to skillet. Making sure to break the meat into small pieces with a wooden spoon, cook until no longer pink, about 7 minutes.
3rd) Drain the grease from the skillet into a colander, discard the grease.
4th) Now place the meat mixture into the crock pot, then add diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato soup, and beans (discard juices), stir to combine. Finally add the spices (recipe kit) to the slow cooker. Now mix well.
5th) Cook on high for 6 hours or low for 8 hours. Adding Salt and Pepper to taste.
Toppings: Shredded cheese, Sour Cream, chopped Scallions or chopped Jalapeno Peppers
