#187 (Beer Can Chicken) - Need (1) 2-3 lb. Whole chicken, (1) 12 oz. can beer, (1) Beer can chicken recipe kit, Optional: (1/2) lb. Bacon
1st) Preheat oven 450F or start Grill. Wash chicken with cold water and pat dry with paper towel.
2nd) Rub (1/2) the (seasoning) recipe kit on the inside cavity of the chicken. Rub the remaining (seasoning) on the outside of the chicken.
3rd) Open beer can and drink (1/2) cup worth. Then with remaining beer, open the (garlic) recipe kit and drop garlic spices into the can.
4th) Then place chicken open end down, over the beer can. Place chicken in a stand up position over a sauté pan or similar pan (if baking) Grilling: set directly on grate. Optional: place (1/2) of bacon into the cavity of chicken and drape the remaining (1/2) of bacon down the outside of chicken. Pierce the bacon with toothpicks to stay in place while cooking.
5th) Place chicken in oven for 10 minutes or grill and then lower temperature to 325F and cook for another hour or until internal temperature reads 165F.
